Team of the Week 2 is live in FC 27 Ultimate Team, and there's a decent mix of headline names and more practical squad options to look through. Michael Olise leads the group on 91 OVR, while Raphinha and Sophia Wilson are rated 89. Mohamed Salah and Marquinhos come in at 88. Those numbers will catch your eye, of course, but they don't tell you whether a card will actually make your side better. Before spending your FC 27 Coins, think about the role you need filled and how the player will fit with the rest of your team. A flashy upgrade can look tempting in the squad screen, then feel awkward once the match gets going.
Olise and Raphinha Bring Different Strengths
Olise is the obvious card to study first. His 91 rating makes him the week's top item, and his passing and dribbling suit a patient attack built around wide players. If you like to hold the ball, draw a defender out, then slip a pass into the box, he could fit that style. His PlayStyle+ also gives him a distinct feel from his regular card; it isn't simply a bigger number on the same item. Raphinha offers a more direct option. At 89 OVR, he has 92 Pace, 87 Shooting, 87 Passing and 88 Dribbling. That mix should appeal if you want a winger who can run into space, create a chance and still take the shot himself. Sophia Wilson is also worth a look, especially if her position and links suit your squad.
Look Past the Overall Rating
Marquinhos may be the more useful pick for a team that needs defensive help. Rather than judging him by his 88 OVR alone, compare his Defending and Physical attributes with the centre-backs you already use. Check his PlayStyles, too, and ask whether his preferred role suits the way you defend. It's easy to chase a famous name, but fixing one weak spot can improve your side more than replacing a player who's already doing a solid job. The same idea applies to In-Form cards across the early Team of the Week cycle. Álvaro Carreras, Felix Nmecha, David Raya and Melchie Dumornay have each offered reasons to look beyond the headline rating. A noticeable overall boost can help, but the position, key attribute changes and PlayStyles tell you far more about how a card might work in a real match.
Check What Has Actually Improved
For TOTW 2, compare Vedat Muriqi and Marco Reus with their regular versions rather than relying on their OVRs. Muriqi gets a substantial Pace increase, while Reus receives a major Pace boost that may make it easier to use his technical strengths. That can matter more in play than a small rise in overall rating. Before buying either, consider whether the added speed helps with your tactics, or whether another player would solve a bigger problem. When you're weighing prices and squad changes, keep some Fut 27 Coins free until you've compared the options. A card can be a good item and still be the wrong purchase for your team, particularly if using it means changing several other positions or losing useful chemistry links.
Make the Upgrade Earn Its Place
Start with the position you need, then compare a new card with your current starter on three attributes that matter for that role. For a winger, Pace, Dribbling and Shooting are a sensible starting point. In central midfield, Passing, Ball Control and Physical attributes may tell you more. If your defence struggles against counters, check defensive Pace and strength before chasing attacking stats. Chemistry deserves a proper look as well: a slightly lower-rated player who fits your formation and links cleanly with teammates may work better than a star who forces multiple changes. Once you've made a move, play a few matches before deciding whether the card belongs in your first XI. Notice the small things: stamina late in the game, movement off the ball, pass speed and how quickly the player responds under pressure. Keep enough resources aside for other positions, useful SBCs or a better opportunity later. That way, one exciting release won't leave the rest of your squad short.
